Glass and Oklahoma

I believe that Oklahoma is on the cusp of something great. We have great weather, great people, great attractions, great cost of living. Granted we rank at the top of most social ills scales too but the offset of wonder is to great to ignore.
We need glass blowing studios in this state. We need the OKCMOA to receive a grant to build a full scale art glass facility in the city. We need Dale Chihuly or Randy Walker to come in and create a premiere place for glassblowing and learning the art of working with all mediums of glass. I could do this too with the right funding. If you have about a half of million dollars you are willing to invest in the future of this state give me a call.

There is a blacksmithing association called the Saltfork Craftsman
based in Oklahoma. Their website is http://scaba.abana-chapter.com/
There are several members in the OKC area.

In one of their newsletters there was discussion of setting up a permanent
training center at the fairgroups. Maybe there would be an opportunity
to work with them. Forged metal and hot glass could be an interesting combination.

I have not met any of the members or been to any of their meets so I can not
point you to anyone in particular.
